Highlights From Milan
Last month we made our annual pilgrimage to Milan for international design shows Euroluce and Salone
There’s no better place for inspiration than Milan during international design week, which hosts Salone Internazionale del Mobile, Euroluce, and hundreds of other design events, installations, and temporary museums that bring the city to life for seven days.
We made our annual pilgrimage a few weeks ago, and as always, came back inspired and re-energized. If you haven’t already, check out our new blog and twitter account; we’ve been updating them with the sights and sounds from the events.
While it would be daunting to lump all the amazing new collections we saw into a few “trends,” one strong theme did emerge at the show: a renewed commitment to the North American market. Proof of this commitment? New stocking programs that provide faster delivery, and products that comply with North American standards (i.e., compact fluorescents and LED).
Ultimately, this means that the timeless designs we’ve grown up coveting are more accessible than ever. Canadians have been supporting great design for years, and now that support is being wholeheartedly reciprocated. Without a doubt, that’s the best news out of Milan this year.

Attend this year's ICFF in New York...
LZF generated a lot of buzz at last year’s ICFF with its two-storey high illuminated timber butterfly
…vicariously through LightForm! From May 14-17 LightForm will be in New York at North America’s singular showcase for contemporary design, the ICFF. This event brings together the latest and most exciting names in contemporary furniture, lighting, interiors, and accessory design. More than 550 international exhibitors will showcase new trends, challenge old conventions, and inspire over 23,000 design enthusiasts that are expected to attend.
