Customer Service Representative - Edmonton

General Summary

The LightForm Customer Service Representative is responsible for managing new and existing customer service issues and communicating with clients and suppliers to ensure cases are closed with a high degree of client satisfaction while mitigating losses to LightForm.

The Customer Service Representative will complete the following functions for LightForm customers:

  • Listen to client concerns
  • Troubleshoot potential issues with products on delivered orders
  • Handle escalations related to orders during and after delivery
  • Communicate with vendors, sales representatives, and customers to determine cost-effective solutions acceptable to all stakeholders
  • Manage the implementation of customer service solutions and ensure accurate and detailed record-keeping
  • Assist the Accounting and Purchasing Departments in the creation and management of back-end documentation

In order to be successful in delivering on the core functions of the role, the Customer Service Representative must:

  • Be able to use back-end inventory management systems
  • Manage stakeholder expectations
  • Communicate and collaborate with the sales force and operations teams
  • Be able to work with and assess complex data
  • Be able to work in a high pressure, fast-paced environment
  • Create, monitor, update, and close cases
  • Create RGAs
  • Meet targets related to case and RGA accuracy
  • Meet targets related to client satisfaction
  • Assist Project Coordinators when workload permits

Our ideal candidate possesses the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Two years minimum of experience in organization focused role e.g. customer service or office administration
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Practical work experience and an ability to demonstrate a high level of lighting and lighting industry knowledge is an advantage
  • Aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers
  • Results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Detail-oriented with a strong ability to assess and work with complex data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite applications and contact management software

Account Executive - Toronto

LightForm Toronto has an opening for a full-time Account Executive with a background in design and/or lighting. As Canada’s largest importer of modern architectural, decorative, and technical lighting, we provide exceptional service and the highest quality of products. As lighting experts who appreciate design, our account executives are amongst the most knowledgeable and most experienced in the lighting industry. We pride ourselves on bridging the gap between interior designers and electrical engineers.

Our clientele includes interior designers, architects, electrical engineers and homebuilders, as well as discerning homeowners, and we help them create lighting plans and source fixtures to realize their vision for a space. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Establish, maintain and manage effective business relationships at junior, senior and executive levels with the architecture, electrical engineering, home builders and design community in the Greater Toronto Area; must understand the dynamics of the spec industry and the value design and technology can bring to the end user
  • Take full ownership of the Sales Process including: preparing growth plans, lead generation initiatives, prospecting, CRM opportunity management process, and sales closing
  • Develop proposals and business cases for contract opportunities including completing financial analysis, cost/benefit assessment and pricing methodologies to make adequate product recommendations to the customer
  • Work in conjunction with internal support staff to prepare estimates, negotiate contracts and maintain client relationships to ensure highest level of customer satisfaction
  •  Fully accountable for territory growth plans and account management in order to meet or exceed required sales targets
  • Passionate about design in order to stay current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies
  • Keep current on relevant lighting technologies, trends and materials; continually develop industry knowledge by participating in key industry events/conferences, reading trade journals, participating in vendors’ training programs and taking advantage of external education as appropriate

Skills and Experience

  • Have a proven track record in competitive selling, including at least 2- 3 years of experience
  • Experience in commercial and decorative lighting industry with an emphasis on B2B sales directly to the Architecture and Design community.
  • Ability to read design and lighting drawings
  • Customer focused individual with strong relationship building skills
  • Exhibit a strong communication and time management skills
  • Ability to deliver strong company and product presentations to clients
  • Must be a self starter, capable of working in a fast paced environment with a high degree of independence
  • Must be prepared to be outside of the office on sales calls 90% of its time
  • Vehicle required
  • Design or Business Degree. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
